(1) Yellow fever was mainly spread in tropical parts of Africa and South America, and was spread in two ways: urban and sylvan. Urban is when its spread from person to person, in densely populated regions, by the bite of the mosquito called Aedes aegypti. Sylvan/forest yellow fever is when its spread by various mosquitoes other than Aedes aegypti. It occurs among humans and monkeys in populated jungles and rainforests.
